Liverpool are ready to deny Southampton’s claims that they have been illegally approaching the transfer of Virgil van Dijk, according to Yahoo Sports UK.
It’s well known to all that Van Dijk is Liverpool’s number one target this summer and it’s pretty clear to see that they will put out all the stops to sign the Dutchman. However, a transfer saga appears to be building and Saints are convinced that something abnormal has taken place in the Reds’ swoop to sign him.

Southampton are understood to be furious with the news breaking at Liverpool’s end that Jurgen Klopp has had significant involvement in Van Dijk favouring a move to Anfield, and feel as though these reported discussions should not have taken place without their permission.
However, Yahoo state that the Reds will strongly reject any claims of wrongdoing, despite Saints demanding the Premier League investigate the approaches made by Liverpool.
Southampton maintain that Van Dijk is not up for sale, but the Reds will be confident of landing him this summer.
