Liverpool reportedly end interest in Naby Keita

Liverpool look to have finally ended their pursuit of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.

According to a report from the Daily Mail today, the Reds have grown impatient with the Bundesliga outfit and will not be pursuing the Guinean midfielder again this summer.

The Reds have reportedly had two bids turned down by Leipzig for the enigmatic young midfielder, with the last being worth around £66m. However, it’s recently been claimed that an offer worth £70m was made for the former RB Salzburg man.

Keita is understood to be keen on a move to Anfield this summer but with Leipzig reiterating their stance that he is not for sale, it looks as though he will not secure a transfer any time soon.

Liverpool had identified Keita as their primary midfield target this summer, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add star quality to the ranks.

However, barring a sensational U-turn from Leipzig, it looks as though Keita will not be a Liverpool player next season.
