Signing a left-back is a priority for Liverpool this summer and they have been linked with a number of names, including Hull’s Andrew Robertson, Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam and Monaco’s Benjamin Mendy.
After fullback reportedly on their radar is Gael Clichy, who is a free agent following his release from Manchester City this summer.
With Alberto Moreno set to leave Anfield this summer, Clichy is on a shortlist of replacements.
The former Arsenal man is interesting a number of clubs this summer, including the Reds, and was recently in talks over a move to the Super Lig.
Both Fenerbahce and Galatasaray held discussions with the left-back before Clichy decide he didn’t want to continue his playing career in Turkey, according to Fotomac (h/t City Watch).
The 31-year-old is believed to prefer his next move in the game to be to another top club in Europe, with Liverpool, Juventus, Inter Milan and Napoli among those keen on signing the Premier League winner.
