Liverpool have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Julian Brandt a number of times during the Jurgen Klopp era at Anfield, but it seems as if the Germany international will not be coming to the club anytime soon.
According to German source TZ (h/t Inside Futbol), the 21-year-old attacker has given his consent to completing a transfer to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2018, rejecting offers to leave this summer.
Still a relatively young player, Brandt wants to commit to one more season playing regular first-team football for Bayer Leverkusen before leaving the club as it will further his development.
Brandt, 21, scored three goals and provided 11 assists for Leverkusen last season, helping them secure a third-placed finish in the Bundesliga and a place in next season’s Champions League.
Liverpool were looking to persuade the young forward to make the move to the Premier League this summer but Brandt wants to stay in the Bundesliga and complete a move to Bayern at the end of the 2017/18 season if reports are to be believed.
