After admitting defeat in their efforts to sign Naby Keita from Red Bull Leipzig this summer, Liverpool are assessing alternative targets before the transfer window shuts at the end of the month.
One of the players they are interested in signing is Inter Milan midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia and he Frenchman appears set to leave the San Siro this summer.
Following a major falling out with the club after refusing to turn up to training last week, Kondogbia was fined £200,000 and is now training on his own as Inter consider his future at the club.
It’s believed that Inter would sell Kondogbia for the right price and Liverpool are among those that are said to be keen on the former Monaco standout.
The 26-year-old reportedly handed in a transfer request earlier this summer as it looks increasingly likely that he will be leaving the Serie A club.
Tottenham are ready to rival Liverpool for Kondogbia’s signature this summer.
