Liverpool are looking to bolster their defensive options when the summer transfer window comes around at the start of July, and it looks as though they’ve already began to identify their targets.
According to a report from French news outlet France Football, the Reds have been tracking promising PSG defender Mahamadou Dembele in recent times ahead of a potential summer move.
The young centre-back has been tipped for big things out in Ligue 1 and is regarded as one of the country’s most exciting young defensive talents, leading to inevitable interest from other top European clubs.
Dembele has already captained his side at Under-19 level and has also been a prominent figure for France’s Under-18 squad.
PSG are facing an uphill battle to keep hold of Dembele and it looks as though he is set to leave the club in the summer, with his contract coming to an end.
The report states that Liverpool are not alone in their interest of the youngster though, with Atletico Madrid and Arsenal also keen.
