Liverpool want obligation to buy clause included in Origi’s Dortmund move

Liverpool have told Borussia Dortmund that they will only allow Divock Origi to leave on loan if the deal includes an obligation to buy.

The Telegraph reports that the Bundesliga outfit are keen to snap up the Belgian and remain in talks over a potential loan move for the striker.

However, Liverpool appear to ready to cut their ties with the striker by including an obligation to buy at the end of the deal.

By adding in such a clause, the Reds hope to avoid losing Origi on the cheap next summer, as he would return to the club with just 12 months left to run on his contract.

Dortmund would prefer to land the player on a season-long loan after baulking at Liverpool’s £27 million asking price.

The striker will be familiar with life in the Bundesliga after spending last season at Wolfsburg, in what was a mixed loan spell for the player.
