Whilst we all know that Manchester City were able to sign Raheem Sterling from Liverpool back in 2015, what wasn’t such common knowledge was that the Manchester club also had an interest in signing Jordan Henderson.
As reported by Dominic King of the Mail,, City were interested in Henderson and they could have signed him for free as his contract at the Reds began to expire.

Henderson’s contract was about to run into its final 12 months and City were circling. However, the midfielder put pen to paper on a new deal and as we all know, he went on to become the club’s captain.
Fast forward three years and Henderson has just signed another new contract at Liverpool and he’s a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Whilst he may not be everyone’s favourite player, Klopp is a huge fan of Henderson and he’ll be a regular in a Liverpool shirt for years to come.
