Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is keeping his cool amid recent criticism from sections of the club’s fan base, Goal reports.
The Belgian international spoke after his side’s 3-0 win over Huddersfield at the weekend, in a game where a clean sheet was a more than welcome accolade to collect.
You know when you play a good game and you know when you play a bad game. Normally we play midweek which wasn’t the case this week so that didn’t help because then a lot gets written and a lot gets said. You can only put it behind you with a good performance.
Daniel Sturridge opened the scoring after Mohamed Salah missed a first-half penalty. Roberto Firmino then added a second for the Reds, before Georginio Wijnaldum secured all three points with a thunderous strike.

Liverpool’s goalkeeping predicament has been highlighted on numerous occasions in recent weeks, with Mignolet copping his fair share of criticism.
Everyone deals with criticism in a different way. Some guys read it, some guys don’t really listen to it, some guys try to stay away from it, some guys get angry about it. It is about making sure you get the right reaction. Everyone wanted to respond in a good way with a good performance.
The ex-Sunderland shot stopper enjoyed a relatively successful campaign on an individual level last season, but has failed to really establish the same kind of form in the 2017/18 term so far.
Mignolet is clearly understanding of the high standards set as a Liverpool player, and is keen to push on.
It is just about staying calm, not getting carried away with what is said because that is part and parcel of playing for Liverpool. You have to deal with it as it’s not going to change.
