Mohamed Salah named February Player of the Month

For the second time this season, Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League Player of the Month, it has been confirmed.

February was yet another standout month for Salah in what is comfortably one of the best debut seasons any player has had in the Premier League era.

The Egyptian netted in all three of Liverpool’s February matches, totaling four goals and two assists as the Reds went unbeaten last month with two wins and a draw.

This is Salah’s second Premier League Player of the Month award this season after picking up his first award back in November, fending off competition from Sergio Aguero (Manchester City), Mousa Dembele (Tottenham), Pascal Gross (Brighton & Hove Albion), Eden Hazard (Chelsea), Glenn Murray (Brighton) and Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke City) for this month’s prize.

While individual accolades are great, Salah reaffirms that it’s the team success that’s most important.

It’s nice to win it again for the second time. That’s something good, but in the end I say I always try to help us to reach the three points and be in a better position, that’s the most important thing. But it’s something individual, this award, and it’s nice to win it again.

Salah has enjoyed a great start to March as well, netting in the 2-0 win over Newcastle last time out, taking his seasonal tallies to 32 goals and 11 assists in 39 appearances for Liverpool after arriving from Roma in the summer, with 24 of those goals coming in the Premier League which sees him tied with Harry Kane in the top scorer charts.
