Napoli have joined the race to sign Liverpool transfer target James Rodriguez this summer.
According to The Mirror, Napoli are interested in a deal to bring Rodriguez to Italy from Spain.
The report claims that Rodriguez is set to leave Real Madrid this summer, following the end of his two-year loan spell at Bayern Munich in Germany.
Bayern had the option to make his loan move a permanent one but opted not to do so, sending him back to Real Madrid.
Rodriguez joined the Spanish giants from Monaco in 2014 and has played 111 games for the club to date, scoring 36 goals.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Rodriguez, along with fellow Premier League side Manchester United.
They now face further competition, with Napoli joining the chase. Carlo Ancelotti managed Rodriguez whilst at Real Madrid and is now hoping for a reunion with the Colombian international in the Serie A next season.
