Newcastle interested in Danny Ings

Newcastle interested in Danny Ings

Liverpool will look to offload a number of fringe players on deadline day and there is interest from Newcastle in Danny Ings, Sky Sports report.

Ings joined Liverpool on a free transfer for a tribunal fee of £7.5m from Burnley in July 2015 but suffered knee injuries in successive seasons which have limited him to just 11 appearances in two years for the Reds, scoring three goals.

The club still think of Ings highly but he needs to start playing regular football now he’s back to full fitness but he sits behind Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Dominic Solanke and Divock Origi in the striking ranks at Anfield, with Origi also one of those who could leave as Wolfsburg look to close a loan deal for the Belgian.

Liverpool would allow Ings to leave on loan but it remains to be seen if a deal can be agreed with Newcastle or any other interested parties.
