Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino has been named on the 30-man shortlist for the Balon d’or award.
The announcements of the shortlisted candidates are being made sporadically and as it stands, ten of those players have been revealed.
Firmino joins his club and international teammate Alisson on the shortlist, alongside the likes of Gareth Bale, Kevin De Bruyne and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Firmino has his best ever season in terms of goalscoring for the Reds during the last campaign as he helped Liverpool secure a top-four finish, as well as helping them get to the Champions League final.
Whilst no announcement has been made at this time, there is likely to be at least one more Liverpool player named in the final 20 nominees as Mohamed Salah is almost certain to make the cut after his incredible debut season at Anfield.
