Liverpool are sweating over the fitness of winger Sadio Mane as the attacker was rushed to hospital this afternoon after sustaining a shoulder injury in training, say the Express.
Mane, who joined Liverpool earlier this summer in a £34m deal from Southampton, was a star performer for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they beat Arsenal 4-3 in a thrilling encounter at the Emirates last Sunday, with Mane getting on the score-sheet himself with a sublime curling effort into the top corner.
The attacker took a tumble in training today and was suffering from severe discomfort in his shoulder and has been taken to hospital for scans on the injury.
Klopp will be hoping the damage isn’t too bad on his marquee summer signing with Liverpool looking to build on last week’s win over the Gunners.
Liverpool travel to Turf Moor on Sunday to take on newly-promoted Burnley and hope to make it back-to-back wins.
Danny Ings could feature for the Reds in what would be his first meeting with his former side since making his free transfer move to Anfield last summer.
If Sadio Mane is ruled out for the game, the expect either Divock Origi or Daniel Sturridge to start in his absence.
