Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been named on a three-man shortlist for FIFA’s Best Men’s Player of the Year Award.
FIFA have confirmed that Salah will battle with Cristiano Ronaldo and Luka Modric for the award.
The award is given to the best male player each year and it was Ronaldo who won the award back in 2017.
The inclusion of both Modric and Salah see the likes of Lionel Messi and Neymar miss out.
It is the first time since 2006 that Messi has missed out on the final three.
Salah dominated the induvidual awards last season in the Premier League after a standout campaign.

He played a key role in helping Liverpool reach the Champions League final, with an impressive 44 goals in all competitions.
Salah will face stiff competition from both Modric and Ronaldo. The Real Madrid midfielder was recently crowned UEFA Player of the Year, while Juventus’ summer signing enjoyed another fantastic season in Spain.
