Liverpool legend Steve Nicol says that he expects James Milner to sign a new contract with the club this summer.
Milner, as it stands, is poised to become a free agent upon the expiry of his contract next month, but Nicol believes that he will commit his future to Anfield.
He made 31 appearances in the Premier League for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season, scoring five and assisting four from central midfield as he rotated with the likes of Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Fabinho.
The 33-year-old is an experienced head in the middle of the park and has shown that he can fill in at left-back when needed.

As quoted by The Express, via Anfield HQ, Nicol said this:
Absolutely no chance he goes anywhere other than his car to drive to Anfield to sign a new deal.
It would be absolutely crazy, he’s been a huge part of this year again.
Regardless of his age, Liverpool will need him next year.
Maybe he won’t play as many games, but he’ll be needed for cover all around the field.
Milner joined Liverpool on a free transfer from Manchester City in 2016 and has played 176 games for the club to date – scoring 22 times.
