Milan attacker Suso has played down speculation he could make a dramatic return to Anfield this month.
As reported by Calcio Mercato, Suso released a statement via his Facebook page to reiterate his commitment to Milan.
I recently signed an important renewal, but I think about the field. My agent thinks about the market. First thing: I do not care about the clause. For me, only results on the field matter. The second thing: I need have respect for a historical and special club like AC Milan, which has bet on me and invested a lot. Third: in any case, only what I want matters. And for now I just want to stay here. Everything else is just chatter.
Following the departure of Philippe Coutinho, the Spaniard has been linked with a return to Anfield.
Suso joined Milan from Liverpool in 2015 but struggled to make an impact during his time at the club, making just 21 appearances during his time in England.
The midfielder has developed into one of Milan’s most potent attackers at the San Siro and recently put pen to paper on a new deal that keeps him with the Rossoneri until 2022.
It is believed that the new deal contains a release clause as Milan struggle in Serie A this season.
After a busy summer of spending Milan may be forced into selling some of their highest earners if they’re unable to qualify for European football.
