Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva says that he hopes Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho joins his side next year.
The central defender claims that he has been in regular contact with Coutinho and hopes that he opts for the switch to PSG next summer.
Silva has played with Coutinho for the Brazilian national team and is hoping that his compatriot will be playing alongside him at club level next season.
Coutinho handed in a transfer request at Liverpool last summer as he looked to force through a move to Barcelona.
The Spanish giants had several offers rejected by Liverpool for Coutinho, with PSG now a possible an alternative for the midfielder.
Barcelona are expected to return to Liverpool with a fresh offer for the player in January. Previous reports have suggested that Coutinho is not interested in a move to France as he holds out for Barcelona.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Silva said:
I talk a lot with Coutinho. I hope that at the end of the season or even before, it could be a nice surprise for us. I hope he will think well and that next year he will work with us.
