Virals: European giants ‘plotting a move’ for Roberto Firmino

Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino is subject to reported interest from two of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Bayern Munich and AC Milan – two European superpowers boasting a combined 13 European Cups – are believed to be ‘plotting a move’ for the 30-year-old Brazilian.

Often the creator and the bridesmaid when it comes to goalscoring, Firmino became the first player from the Samba nation to score more than one hat-trick in the Premier League over the weekend.

According to a report from SportAndGoal, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, both clubs could target the Reds’ number nine to replenish their ageing attacking options.

The report claims that Milan are looking to ‘revolutionise’ their frontline with the capture of the 55-cap star.

This season, the man described as being in ‘blistering form’ by Garth Crooks, has scored six goals and registered one assist in seven appearances.

Under contract on Merseyside until 2023 and valued at £36million (Transfermarkt), Liverpool and the hierarchy more importantly need to come up with a solution for Firmino’s future soon.

Clearly still an internal part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans, the creative Brazilian ace would appear to have a future beyond the next two seasons at Anfield.

Albeit facing increased competition for a starting berth from Diogo Jota, as well as potential further additions, selling such a key component of the squad to a European rival would be a mistake.

matchday.
