Virals: Jose Mourinho takes bizarre swipe at Steven Gerrard

Recently sacked by Tottenham, a potentially bitter Jose Mourinho has posted a bizarre dig at Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard on an infamous seven-year ‘anniversary’.

The former Chelsea boss used Instagram to remind the world of his involvement on the day Gerrard slipped over and gifted Demba Ba a free-run at goal.

Ba duly converted the opportunity to hand the Blues the lead in what was a damaging blow to the Reds’ optimistic Premier League title hopes.

The image shows Gerrard attempting to steal back the ball from Mourinho with the caption “Anfield, April 27th 2014. Ball possession.”

Chelsea ultimately went on to win 2-0 as Brendan Rodgers’ side scrambled for an equaliser late on.

After throwing away a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with Crystal Palace a week later, Liverpool eventually missed out on top spot by two points to Manchester City.

This type of antic should come as no surprise to Kopites, we all remember how Mourinho celebrated at Anfield after all.

That’s not to say it isn’t a strange dig, given Chelsea still finished behind the Reds that season and Mourinho has recently been dismissed six days before a Carabao Cup final.

But, anything to ensure we don’t forget about him too quickly…
