Virals: Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn ‘attracting serious interest’

Liverpool youngster Ben Woodburn is believed to be ‘attracting serious interest’ from abroad and in the Championship this summer.

The 21-year-old Welshman has reportedly gained admirers in Greece, Denmark and Croatia as well as the second tier in England.

Woodburn has been among a group of standout performers for the Reds during pre-season and caught the eye once again on Monday night as Jurgen Klopp’s side beat Osasuna 3-1 at Anfield.

According to a report from The Athletic, as cited by Caoimhe O’Neill on Twitter, the forward could be allowed to leave if a ‘fantastic opportunity was to arise.

The report claims that the 10 times capped Wales international has been described as ‘out of this world’ by Liverpool coaches during training this summer and they would be ‘reluctant’ to see the starlet leave.

Woodburn took the footballing world by storm in 2016 when becoming the club’s youngest ever goalscorer against Leeds United in the League Cup as a 17-year-old.

Since then the versatile attacker has spent relatively forgettable loan spells with Blackpool, Oxford United and Sheffield United.

In the final 12 months of a deal on Merseyside, this truly is a make or break transfer decision that must be made this summer.

Having made a bright start to a promising Liverpool career, Woodburn has failed to kick on prior to some impressive showings during this pre-season.

Valued at £1.8million (Transfermarkt), any sale wouldn’t boost the budget excessively and the club may choose to persevere with a talented individual.
