Virals: Three EPL clubs ‘express an interest’ in Liverpool ace Nat Phillips

Liverpool central defender Nat Phillips has reportedly attracted interest from three Premier League clubs.

The 24-year-old became a hero last season when Jurgen Klopp’s side were decimated by injury.

However, as Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez returned to fitness, supplemented by the arrival of Ibrahima Konate, Phillips has been relatively lesser-seen this term.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, as cited by Liverpool FC News on Twitter, the Englishman has three potential suitors in the top-flight.

The report claims West Ham, Newcastle United and Burnley have all ‘expressed an interest’ in the former VfB Stuttgart loanee ahead of the January transfer window.

So far this season Phillips – hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Jamie Redknapp – has made four appearances across all competitions.

Valued at £7.2million and under contract at Anfield until 2025 (Transfermarkt), the Reds are in a strong position when it comes to the future of the Bolton-born defender.

Klopp will have to weigh up the options at his disposal having recently praised Phillips for staying on for the first half of the campaign.

Unlikely to push up the pecking order on Merseyside, should the Englishman leave for the betterment of his own career Liverpool will want to receive the maximum possible fee.
