West Brom and Rangers eyeing Woodburn swoop

West Brom and Rangers are both plotting a swoop to sign Liverpool winger Ben Woodburn in the summer.

According to The Birmingham Mail, both clubs are interested in signing Woodburn on loan for next season.

Woodburn joined Sheffield United on loan last summer, but his deal was cut short in January due to the lack of game time handed to him by manager Chris Wilder.

The report claims that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp also pulled the plug over a move to Hull in January, as he was concerned that he would also not get regular minutes on the pitch under Nigel Adkins.

West Brom are currently in the Championship, although they could yet be a Premier League side next season if they are able to win the play-offs next month.

Rangers, however, could have an edge in the battle due to Steven Gerrard’s connection with Liverpool – which has seen him able to land the likes of Jon Flanagan and Ryan Kent.
