Liverpool are in an interesting position under Andoni Iraola currently.
They are slowly clicking into gear under their new manager, while Julian Ward has replaced Richard Hughes as sporting director in another important change behind the scenes.
The Reds are expected to be active in the upcoming transfer windows as they still have a lot of work to do to fine-tune their squad, particularly in midfield.
And now, Fabrizio Romano has revealed whether Liverpool will make a move for Lamine Camara or Alex Scott in 2027.
Lamine Camara and Alex Scott wanted by Liverpool
Interest in both players is well documented, but Romano says Liverpool are yet to decide whether they will act decisively in January.
“Liverpool admire Lamine Camara, but it remains to be seen whether they enter the midfield market in January,” said Romano.
“Alex Scott is also admired, with several other midfielders being scouted and followed.
“Internal discussions over midfield signings for 2027 are becoming increasingly intense. Whether a move comes in January or the summer remains to be seen.”
Over the years, the Reds haven’t refrained from spending in January, with the likes of Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz joining the club midway through the season in recent seasons, among others.
If suitable market opportunities come by, Liverpool will be there to react. That said, it’s hard to find value for money in January, so it appears as if they will play it by ear.
