Liverpool transfer news as cut-price move for Premier League winger possible

Liverpool remain in the transfer market for signings despite bringing in four new players during the summer.

Andoni Iraola has a strong squad at his disposal, but it goes without saying that he could do with a few more quality players.

In attack, Liverpool currently have the numbers, but Federico Chiesa’s future is uncertain as he continues to struggle at Anfield.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, the Reds are interested in signing Kaoru Mitoma from Brighton.

Liverpool could sign Kaoru Mitoma

Mitoma has been a reliable player for the Seagulls over the years and has proved his class in the Premier League.

His current deal at the Amex Stadium runs out in the summer of 2027, so Brighton are faced with an important decision.

They could keep him in January and lose him for free next summer, while the obvious other option is to sell him in the winter transfer window and get a fee.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are one of the clubs vying for his signature and hold a long-standing interest in the player.

Mitoma is certainly a quality player, but considering his age and profile, we’re not sure if he is the kind of player who Iraola would want.
