Wagner expects strong Liverpool team despite injury worries
David Wagner believes that Jurgen Klopp will still name a strong side this weekend when the two sides meet on Saturday night.
Speaking ahead of the game, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, Wagner drew on the pair’s relationship and how well he knows the Liverpool boss when he was quizzed on the Reds’ injury concerns ahead of the match.
I have known Jurgen long enough, I know he loves to use smoke screens. I expect that most of his players will be available. I have known him long enough and he likes to moan after the international break!
A number of Liverpool players are considered doubts for Saturday after a turbulent international break for the club.
Virgil van Dijk is still reportedly suffering from a rib problem, while Sadio Mane and Naby Keita also sustained injuries during the break.
Mohamed Salah is believed to be pushing to start the game after concerns were also raised over his fitness.
Liverpool will head into the game knowing they need a result, with both Chelsea and Manchester City playing earlier in the day. All three sides are currently locked on 20 points at the top of the Premier League.
