Sergio Busquets admits Barcelona are “still p***ed off” after their humiliation at the hands of Liverpool.

The Reds secured one of the most memorable wins in their history last Tuesday, winning 4-0 at Anfield to earn a 4-3 aggregate victory and book a place in the Champions League final.

It was a result that almost seemed impossible before kick-off and has been declared one of the most disastrous days in Barcelona’s history.

The Barca players were clearly stunned after the game, and despite the match now almost being a week old, the scars still remain.

Speaking to reporters in Spain after the 2-0 win over Getafe on Sunday, Busquets claimed anger is still very much the order of day, following such an infamous defeat:

We wanted to be at 100 per cent but it was a struggle because of what happened [at Liverpool].

We have to keep going and we have to focus on the Copa del Rey final. Hopefully the wound which the club the players and the fans have will heal.

The challenge ahead isn’t a small one, either. The double’s no small thing but the wound from Liverpool is deep.

We have to be grateful to the fans. It seems that we’re not living in this world at times but we are. We know how fans are feeling but their behaviour has been spectacular.

They showed their disappointment at first, but after that they were 10 out of 10. We’re all p***ed off, but we have to keep going. There’s nothing else for it.

Ernesto Valverde’s side still have an opportunity to secure the domestic double, facing Valencia in the Copa del Rey final on May 25th.

The Champions League was the trophy they really wanted, however, but they were no match for a rampant Liverpool side at Anfield.
