Virals: Report outlines potential Liverpool squad overhaul

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could feasibly oversee the departure of a vast majority of the Anfield squad this summer, with a host of fringe players in danger of being sold.

With every outgoing there must follow an incoming as the strength in depth within the Reds has already been brought into question.

Since the 2010 takeover by Fenway Sports Group, Liverpool’s modus operandi has been a sell to buy model in the transfer market.

As the end of a wretched 2020/21 campaign comes into view, attentions have already turned to what could be the busiest summer during Klopp’s reign.

A report from The Athletic, as cited by LFC Transfer Room on Twitter, has outlined the potential departures based on last summer when financial uncertainty put pay to many plans.

The aforementioned players, not including the already sold Dejan Lovren, could all be made available once again as Liverpool look to raise funds for their own transfer dealings.

Marko Grujic, Loris Karius and Harry Wilson have all spent mixed spells away on loan this season – leading to the belief the Reds could indeed look for permanent deals this time around.

Questions also remain over Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Takumi Minamino, the latter also being sent out on loan for the second half of this campaign.

The more interesting cases are Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi, having made a combined 24 Premier League appearances this season.

Realistically, Klopp should look to cash in on both fringe players and holding a market value of £27million between them, Liverpool’s coffers will be better off for the double departure.
