West Ham open talks with Liverpool to sign striker in a deal as little as £15million

This summer could see a real shake-up for Liverpool with a number of players linked with a move away.

Liverpool have been linked with moves for a number of players already this summer to revamp our squad depth.

With that comes the obvious rumours over players possibly leaving with plenty of clubs interested.

It was reported yesterday that the club had entered talks with West Ham over the possible signing of Nat Phillips.

However, it now appears as though the Hammers are after another member of Liverpool’s squad.

According to Football Insider, the London club have entered preliminary talks to sign Divock Origi.

The report suggests that West Ham are heading the interest in Origi with them trying to get a cut-price deal.

In January, the Reds were open to letting the Belgium striker leave with him valued at £20million.

Now, it appears as though the club are open to letting Origi go for as little as £15million after a lack of interest.

Many other clubs were likely put off by the Reds’ initial asking price which seemed high for a player that didn’t start.

Whether the club can recoup a good fee for Origi is yet to be seen as negotiations will likely go back and forth.

This does still depend on the solidity of the reports from Football Insider, with no other outlet providing much information.

Wolves has previously been interested in the striker but those rp=eports haven’t culminated to much.

Origi has been a great servant for the club but it is fair to say that a new challenge may be right for him.

Having struggled for game time with the Reds, Origi is in need of regular football to progress during his career.

Liverpool will no doubt aim to receive a worthwhile fee to go towards furthering their quality in depth.

This summer transfer window is far from over so expect to see some more activity from the club in the coming weeks.
