Barcelona have possible agreement in place to sign Erling Haaland

Liverpool have been dealt a potential blow in their attempts to sign Erling Haaland, with Marca claiming Barcelona could have a deal in place.

The 20-year-old is one of the most exciting prospects in world football at the moment, recently winning the prestigious European Golden Boy award.

Haaland has scored an incredible 33 goals in just 32 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, having joined from RB Salzburg back in January.

The Norwegian has been tipped to join Liverpool in recent months, but it could be that he heads to Barca instead.

It is claimed that if Emili Rousaud wins the presidency race at the La Liga giants he will acquire the striker’s services, with his vice-president Josep Maria Minguella sorting a pre-agreement with Mino Raiola, Haaland’s agent.

Haaland has the ability to be a once-in-a-generation talent, with his goalscoring record already sensational, at such a young age.

For that reason, Liverpool should do all they can to snap up the Dortmund superstar, even though it could be a huge transfer fee needed to bring him in.

His age, quality and all-round style as a player mean he could be magnificent under Klopp, acting as a long-term replacement for Roberto Firmino.

It remains to be seen if Rousaud wins the presidency battle, or if he keeps to his promise.
