Bristol City don’t want to sell Lloyd Kelly this summer

Liverpool are seemingly interested in a deal for Bristol City defender Lloyd Kelly but the Robins have no intention of selling the defender this summer unless the club receives “silly money”, according to the Bristol Post.

The Post also state that reports of Liverpool making a £12m bid for Kelly are wide of the mark, but they do confirm that the Reds are one of a number of clubs who have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.

Bristol City, under the management of Lee Johnson, are hoping to make a promotion push next season after just missing out on a place in the Championship playoffs during the last campaign and they see Kelly as a key piece of their squad.

The England U21 international is being touted as a player who Liverpool see as cover for Andy Robertson at left-back as Alberto Moreno is set to leave the club this summer, even though it appears that the youngster’s long-term future appears to be as a centre back.

The Robins told Southampton that they’d need to pay £15m for Kelly when the Saints made an official enquiry about his availability in January so it appears that will be the asking price for the Reds if they do make a move for the defender.
