Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren has received some positive news after a Croatian court dropped the perjury charges that had been hanging over him.
As reported by James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, the court decided not to pursue charges against the defender, which is the same outcome as the charges which were filed against Real Madrid star Luka Modric.
Lovren was accused of giving false testimony in a corruption trial relating to former Dinamo Zagreb boss Zdravko Mamic, who himself was found guilty of corruption last year.

The Liverpool star had been asked to give details relating to his transfer from Dinamo to Lyon back in 2010 and he was accused of lying under oath.
However, the Zagreb municipal court announced that they had “rejected the indictment” against Lovren and as such, all charges have now been dropped.
Had Lovren been found guilty, he could have received a maximum jail sentence of five-and-a-half years.
