Liverpool’s forgotten man Danny Ings says he is looking to learn from fellow striker Roberto Firmino, as he targets a first-team return.
Speaking to the club’s official website, as per a report from the Daily Mail, Ings has praised the Brazilian, who has led the line for the Reds superbly this season, despite not being recognised as an ‘out-and-out striker’.
Firmino has netted 20 times for Liverpool in all competitions this season, making up one-third of the Reds’ brilliant attacking presence.
From the moment I started training back with the lads, I tried to learn every day, especially from Bobby, he is a fantastic player with the way he plays and the amount of work he does for the team, not just on the ball but off the ball as well.
They are the things I have to look at and learn from, and that’s what I did over the months I was out.
The former Burnley man will be hoping that the worst of his injuries are behind him.
The striker came off the bench during Liverpool’s emphatic 5-0 away in Porto last week, where he set up Sadio Mane’s third goal to mark his Champions League debut.
Being back training with them every day, you get used to the patterns the manager wants and the intensity he wants. I’m learning every day from all the lads here and trying to be the best player I can be.

The Champions League cameo was only Ings’ six appearance of the season and his first since coming off the bench against West Brom in the FA Cup back in January.
