Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has included Brazilian Philippe Coutinho and Englishman Adam Lallana in his squad for tonight’s friendly against Wigan Athletic, as confirmed on the club’s official website.
The duo returned to pre-season training on Tuesday and have participated in the training sessions at Melwood with their team mates and Klopp has decided that they are ready to travel with the squad to the DW Stadium.
Both players were absent as Liverpool strolled comfortably past Tranmere Rovers in their first pre-season friendly of the summer but they could make their returns to action tonight.
Liverpool are facing a big season and both Coutinho and Lallana will be key players for the Reds if they are to have a successful campaign.
The key for Klopp will be to keep both playmakers fit and healthy throughout the season as his side have noticeably struggled when Coutinho is absent as his quality is hard to replace.
The number 10 has been linked with a move away from Anfield this summer but he has rubbished these reports and said he will honour his contract with the club.
