LeBron James ‘stands between’ Real Madrid and Mbappe – boost for Liverpool

Liverpool have one advantage over Real Madrid when it comes to signing Kylian Mbappe – basketball superstar LeBron James.

Mbappe’s future continues to be in the news, with the Frenchman potentially leaving Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old’s current deal runs out in the summer, and both Liverpool and Madrid have been tipped to acquire his signature.

According to AS [via Sport Witness], James’ part-ownership of the Reds ‘stands between’ Mbappe and Madrid, possibly acting as a boost to Jurgen Klopp’s hopes of signing him.

The two sporting giants recently changed their Instagram profile pictures to each other’s, as part of a Nike advertising campaign.

It remains to be seen how big an influence James could have in the Mbappe saga, but it seems unlikely to play too huge a part.

That being said, Liverpool should take any advantage they can and the American star’s love for the Reds and ties with Nike can’t do any harm.

Mbappe is a sensational footballer who recently ranked sixth in Goal‘s countdown of the top 50 players in the world.

He has scored 104 goals in just 142 appearances for PSG, also winning the European Golden Boy award back in 2017, showing what a special addition he could be.
