Liverpool are in advanced talks with Nike over a new long-term kit deal

Liverpool Football Club are in advanced talks with Nike over a new long-term kit deal, one that will exceed Manchester United’s £750million deal with Adidas, according to a report from ESPN FC.

Liverpool’s deal with their current kit suppliers New Balance- is due to expire at the end of the 2019/20 season and the Reds are in talks to find a more lucrative deal.

According to journalist Simon Hughes, New Balance, who currently pay Liverpool £45million a season, aren’t willing to pay £75million per year, but Nike are.

Nike have ended their deals with Arsenal and Manchester United in recent years, and their deal with Manchester City ends at the end of the season, so they could be willing to pay a much larger fee.

According to the ESPN FC report, Liverpool have also held discussions with both Adidas and Puma but the club are seemingly further into talks with Nike.
