The Dutchman underwent a medical on Merseyside on Wednesday ahead of a world-record deal for a defender.
Van Dijk joins Liverpool on a long-term deal and is reported to be earning £180,000 per week. The Netherlands international aimed to force a move to Anfield in the summer but saw his efforts rejected by Southampton.

The deal is said to be worth a fee of £70 million, which will mean that Van Dijk goes down in history as Liverpool’s most expensive ever player.
Van Dijk has endured a difficult first half of the season at Southampton but will hope that under the tutelage of Jurgen Klopp at Anfield, he can recapture his best form.
