The news, as cited by Watch LFC on Twitter, confirms some of what was revealed yesterday.
It was reported by journalist Bruno Andrade that the Reds were interested in Vieira after his debut season.
The youngster has been at Porto since 2008 as a youngster and impressed for the first-team this campaign.
At just 21-years-old, Vieira made 33 appearances for FC Porto in all competitions.
This included some impressive outing’s in the Champions League with six appearances and a goal in the group stages.
With a current market value of £8.10million according to Transfermarkt, he would be one of the cheaper options.
Other individuals that the Reds have been linked with have come with some hefty price tags.
Not only that, but the midfielder is very versatile, having covered four different positions this season for Porto.
Vieira could easily be available at a competitive price at a young age, with plenty of potential too.
