Liverpool reportedly ready to bid €25m for Diego Llorente

Liverpool are believed to be readying a bid worth €25 million for Real Sociedad defender Diego Llorente.

According to the printed edition of Spanish news outlet AS, as translated in a report from Sport Witness, the Reds are ready to firm up their interest in the player by lodging a formal offer in the near future.

Llorente was linked with a possible move to Anfield earlier on in the year, and it seems he is on the radar of Jurgen Klopp as he bids to strengthen his side’s defensive options ahead of next season.

AS report that the centre-back could be allowed to leave Estadio Anoeta this summer if a bid worth €30 million is received, indicating that Liverpool may need to up their offer marginally.

The Reds are claimed to have kept tabs on Llorente throughout the season and have already initiated contact with the Spaniard’s agent, Juanma Lopez, ahead of a possible summer move.

Although a €50 million release clause protects the 25-year-old in his current deal at Real Sociedad, it would appear as though the La Liga outfit are prepared to sell him for less this summer as interest from elsewhere gathers.
