Officials from Liverpool are set to meet with the agent of midfielder Bruno Fernandes’ in London to discuss a potential new offer for the Sporting Lisbon star, according to reports in Portugal.
Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha, as cited by the Metro, claim that Liverpool are not willing to increase the £40m offer that they’ve already made to Sporting, but they are willing to change the terms of that deal and that could include making it a player-plus-cash offer.
Rafa Camacho seems keen to leave Liverpool this summer in search of regular first-team football elsewhere and it looks like he would favour a return to Portugal.
The Reds are apparently considering using the youngster as part of a new offer to Sporting, as it had been reported that they are interested in signing him.
The Portuguese side are reportedly holding out for around £70m for Fernandes, a fee which Liverpool are not willing to pay, but discussions will continue this week to see if there is any middle ground.
