Liverpool have beaten the likes of PSG and Real Madrid to the signing of Harvey Elliott from Fulham, according to Sam Wallace of The Telegraph.
Elliott is officially the youngest player ever to play in the Premier League as he came on as a substitute against Wolves in May aged 16 years and 30 days.
The teenager can’t officially sign a professional deal until he’s 17-years-old, so he’ll join the Reds on a scholars deal until next April, where he will then sign a three year contract as a professional.
Liverpool will be happy to have secured the signing of one of the hottest young talents in Europe but they’ll know that they’ll have to pay compensation to Fulham, one which could be decided by a tribunal if the two clubs can’t come to an agreement between themselves.
Fulham hoped to keep Elliott at the club, hence why he’d been fast-tracked into the first team set up but he rejected the chance to sign scholarship terms with the London club and he’ll now join the Reds at the Academy in Kirkby.
