Liverpool working to complete Alisson deal in the ‘coming weeks’

Liverpool’s pursuit of Roma goalkeeper Alisson has been well documented in recent times and it seems they are keen to accelerate their negotiations with the Serie A club.

According to a report from Sky Sports, the Reds are keen to conclude a deal for Alisson in the “coming weeks” ahead of a permanent deal in the summer.

Liverpool are seemingly looking to complete their business early ahead of the transfer window and have identified Alisson as their primary target between now and the end of the season. Although, Roma do want to reward the goalkeeper with a new and improved contract at the club.

Roma hold the Brazilian international in extremely high esteem and it is not hard to see why. Alisson has been one of the best goalkeepers in European football this season and, if Sky Sports are to be believed, a world-record sum for a goalkeeper worth £62m could be demanded.

The 26-year-old is a crucial player for Eusebio Di Francesco at Roma and is a fundamental part of the manager’s defensive setup. However, with Liverpool keen to sign a top goalkeeper to clarify their scrutinised situation between the posts, Alisson may be tempted by a move to Anfield.

Negotiations between Liverpool and Roma are stated to be ongoing but only in the opening stages.
