Sadio Mane says he would be excited by the possibility of Nabil Fekir joining the club this summer.
Speaking to SFR Sport, as reported by Get French Football, Mane explained that Fekir would be an ‘immense’ signing.
Nabil is an incredible player. If he comes, we would be truly happy to have him with us. I think that he will do really good things with us. He will love it here. We always need his type of player. If we get him, it will be immense!
Reports emerged during Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to top-four rivals Chelsea that a deal had been agreed between the Reds and Lyon.
Speaking after the game, Jurgen Klopp played down suggestions that the French international would join this summer.
Reports in France have suggested the playmaker will leave the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season to embark on the next stage of his career.
Fekir has been a regular for Lyon and could be seen as a long-term replacement for the departed Philippe Coutinho.
Liverpool have already agreed a deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig and Klopp has talked up the chances of further deals being completed.
