Neymar came in for plenty of criticism during Liverpool’s 3-2 victory over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, but Reds fans will be able to appreciate his actions at full time.
The Mirror reports that the Brazilian was seen embracing his fellow countryman Roberto Firmino, congratulating him on the result and in particular, his performance.
The report claims Neymar was quoted saying:
Congratulations, you played great.
Firmino came off the bench to score the winner against the French champions after previously being ruled out of the game.
Following a nasty eye injury against Spurs at the weekend, Firmino has struggled to train during the build-up to the game.
It had been expected that the Brazilian would not even feature in Liverpool’s match-day squad, but he surprised everyone and started the evening on the bench.
Firmino came off the bench with just over 15 minutes left to play and scored Liverpool’s third with one of the last kicks of the evening.
