No contact made from Liverpool over Lanzini deal

There has been no contact between Liverpool and West Ham regarding a deal for Manuel Lanzini, according to Bleacher Report, as cited by the Daily Star.

Lanzini has been discussed as a possible transfer target for the Reds after they sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in a mouth-watering £142 million deal.

Alternative signings for Liverpool include Monaco winger Thomas Lemar and Leicester City star man Riyad Mahrez.

It is believed that as Mahrez is not a priority and Lemar is more likely to move this summer, meaning that Lanzini may be the one on his way to Merseyside.

Lanzini has been West Ham’s star player for some time with impressive performances in the Hammers’ attack, and he is certainly capable of stepping up to the next level.

His current contract at the London Stadium runs out in the summer of 2020, but it is to be believed that David Moyes is trying to keep the Argentine in East London with an improved and longer contract.

If he were to join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool, West Ham would demand a very big fee for the 24-year-old, as they attempt to stay in the Premier League this season. But as of yet, no contact has been made.
