Representitive of Naby Keita delivers angry Tweet aimed at Jurgen Klopp

Things haven’t quite gone to plan for Naby Keita following the Guinean midfielders eagerly anticipated arrival from RB Leipzig.

Having agreed on the deal in July 2017 that would see the high energy ace arrive at Anfield a year later for £48m (BBC), the Reds were made to wait to see their new man in action.

A combination of injuries, fitness issues and an early substitution recently against Real Madrid has meant the 26-year-old hasn’t had the desired impact on Merseyside.

But now, Malick Kebe, a representative of the Guinea captain has pointed the finger of blame at Jurgen Klopp on Twitter.

Keita has made just 16 appearances in all competitions this season – without directly contributing to a goal – earning an average Sofascore rating of 6.69 in the Premier League.

There’s no doubt Klopp’s demands on his midfielders are far and above the majority of managers.

However, to suggest Keita’s troubled spell is solely down to the German asking the Guinean to play a slightly altered role is extremely farfetched.

Hailed as ‘world class’ by teammate Virgil van Dijk, there is certainly a player waiting to be unleashed in Keita – although time could be running out to see it in a Red shirt.

matchday.
