Roma chief insists no bids were made by Reds for Alisson

Roma sporting director Monchi has insisted that Liverpool did not table a bid for goalkeeper Alisson in the January transfer window.

The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to Anfield for some time now and, according to various reports in the last week, Jurgen Klopp’s side tabled a bid for the Roma star.

However, speaking to the Italian media (via the Mirror), Monchi has insisted that no bid was offered by the Reds for the shot stopper.

Did any offers come in for Alisson? No. It’s too early to talk about the next transfer window, it’s not very useful talking today, February 1, about who will stay or go.

Liverpool’s goalkeeping predicament has been highlighted on several occasions throughout the season, with both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius failing to convince when called upon.

This has prompted links with other goalkeepers and it seems Alisson is right at the top of Klopp’s wish list for the summer transfer window.

If the impressive Brazilian does continue his impressive run of form with Roma, though, Liverpool will not be the only side keen to recruit him when July comes around.
