Trent Alexander-Arnold produced a sensational pass in Liverpool’s 0-0 draw away to Newcastle United, in a rare moment of quality in the game.
The Reds were deeply disappointing on Wednesday night, failing to break down a stubborn Magpies outfit and dropping more points in the Premier League.
It means Jurgen Klopp’s side have now slipped up against Newcastle, West Brom and Fulham in recent weeks, in what has been a frustrating period in the season.
While Liverpool never got going at St James’ Park, one moment of sheer brilliance arrived from the boot of Alexander-Arnold.
The 22-year-old sprayed a stunning, half-volleyed pass to Sadio Mane in the first half, outlining his technical brilliance:

In truth, Alexander-Arnold was actually hugely below-par against Newcastle, with his pass the one shining light in an otherwise ineffective performance.
The youngster is not enjoying a particularly impressive run of form in general, with Andy Robertson comfortably Liverpool’s standout full-back this season.
It could simply be that Alexander-Arnold is still finding his feet again after injury, or is a little jaded, but the Reds badly need him back to his best.
By his incredibly high standards, just two assists in 14 Premier League appearances this season is not a great return.
