Virals: Liverpool ‘keeping tabs’ on Non-League sensation Ola Lawal

Liverpool are reportedly ‘keeping tabs’ on Chippenham Town forward Oluwasegun Lawal.

Known simply as ‘Ola’, the 19-year-old is believed to be attracting interest from numerous clubs such as Rangers, Newcastle United, Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Watford.

That’s according to a report from All Nigeria Soccer, claiming that the Reds are also keen on the talented starlet.

Described as a ‘versatile striker, Lawal earned a first-team debut over the weekend in the National League South.

The teenager, who holds dual nationality between Nigeria and the Republic of Ireland, had scored once in five appearances for The Bluebirds Under 23’s side before making his senior bow.

Capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder, winger and striker as per the report, Lawal looks to be set for a big move in the near future.

This would no doubt be a fairytale move for the teenager, the type of which we rarely see these days.

Liverpool have a glowing track record of signing talented youngsters from the lower reaches of the English football pyramid – see Ian Rush from Chester City – and will be hoping Lawal can be the next golden find.

Recent months have seen the club undergo a shift in the transfer market as many talented youngsters arrive on Merseyside to join the academy ranks. Could the Chippenham Town starlet be the next?
