Bundesliga side Wolfsburg are reportedly interested in making a move to sign Lazar Markovic from Liverpool.
According to Sky Sports, the Reds winger is set to depart the club in the closing stages of the window and is not short of potential suitors, with Wolfsburg now joining the race.
Earlier reports had suggested that Markovic was set to join Premier League side Swansea City for a fee in the region of £15m. However, it seems a deal will not be as cut and dry as this, with external interest starting to build.
Markovic has never made an impression at Liverpool and has underwhelmed since his £20m move from Benfica. During this period, he has been loaned out to clubs such as Hull City, again failing to truly live up to his potential.
The 23-year-old evidently has no future at Anfield and Liverpool are stated to be happy for the Serb to seek pastures new and start afresh away from Merseyside.
